In 2018 my family and I lost one of the most important people in our lives; my Uncle Brian. We saw him be diagnosed, suffer through, and eventually pass away due to brain cancer all within a single year. He was one of the most incredible people I have ever known; always brave and the only thing he would ever complain about was that they wouldn't let him out of hospital so he could drive his tractors. Although sometimes difficult to understand, those that knew him had a friend forever and would grow to love his stubborn personality. The Mark Hughes Foundation was an incredible support; providing a care coordinator whom greatly assisted in ensuring high quality care regardless of his rural location. Additionally, the foundation provides funding for research into ideally finding a cure. In showing my gratitude for all that they do, I have decided to raise money for the foundation through running the Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon 2019. To aid me in helping them, it would be immensely appreciated if you are able to give whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. Alternatively, please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. 47 is far too young for someone as incredible as Brian to be taken from the world, but hopefully we can work towards a future where brain cancer no longer exists! Thank you in advance for your support!
